Public Safety Officer Taxation Changes
The Pension Protection Act of 2006 contains provisions related to
taxation of benefits for “public safety officers,” including a
potential $3,000 tax exclusion for certain health care expenses, and
waiver of the early distribution penalty for Partial Lump Sum Option
payments.
